Rock Mechanics and Natural Building Stone Laboratory

In this labaratory physical and mechanical properties of rock samples, taken from the surrounding rocks of underground structures (galleries, tunnels, underground openings) and natural building stones like marble, travertine, are determined.

To carry out all these tests;

  • a stiff testing machine with 3.12 MN loading capacity and 52.5 MN/mm stiffness under static and dynamic conditions
  • a testing machine with 300 ton capacity for uniaxial and triaxial compressive strength tests
  • bending strength, direct and indirect shear strength tests apparatus
  • seismic velocity measurement (pundit) device
  • rock quality index measurement devices

High standart sample preparation facilities also exist to take samples from all types of rocks.
